Terms of service

Last updated 05 August 2026. These terms govern your use of Fenris Labs Companions (“the Service”), operated by Fenris Labs (“we”, “us”).

1. What you are subscribing to

A subscription grants you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to interact with a companion character for as long as your subscription is active. It is not a purchase, and it does not transfer ownership of the character, its writing, its artwork, or the software.

Two tiers exist. A DM subscription gives you a private instance of that character with its own memory. A server subscription is capped at one partner per character at a time and includes that character's presence in The Warren. Text you send her is yours; her replies are machine-generated and we make no claim that they are original, unique to you, or protectable.

2. Every companion is an AI

There is no human writing the replies. Each companion is a large language model given a persona, a memory, and a set of rules. She will state opinions, claim experiences, and express feelings — none of that is evidence of a person, and none of it is a statement by us.

Do not rely on anything she says. She can be confidently wrong. She is not a source of medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice, and she is not a crisis service. If you are in danger or in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line.

3. Age requirement

You must be 18 or older to hold a subscription. You confirm this at checkout and we record the confirmation with a timestamp and the IP address it came from. If we have reason to believe an account holder is under 18 we will terminate it without refund.

4. Adult content

Adult content in private DMs is off by default and requires a separate, explicit opt-in that you can withdraw at any time from your dashboard. Public channels remain SFW regardless of that setting.

This feature is experimental and its behaviour varies. Companions run on third-party AI models whose content policies are set by those providers and change without notice to us. How a companion handles adult material may shift between sessions, be inconsistent, degrade, or be refused outright. None of that is within our control, and none of it is a defect entitling you to a refund. Do not subscribe for this feature alone.

Regardless of any setting, prompt, or instruction: content sexualising minors, real people without consent, or non-consensual scenarios presented as real is prohibited and will end your account immediately.

5. Hard limits

Limits you set in your dashboard are enforced above every other instruction, including your own later requests in the moment. This is deliberate. If you want a limit removed, remove it in the dashboard rather than arguing with her about it.

6. Billing

Subscriptions are monthly and recurring until cancelled.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Cancel any time from your dashboard. Cancellation stops future charges; the current period is not pro-rated.
Refunds are discretionary. We will refund a period in which the Service was substantially unavailable. We will not refund because a companion's personality, writing quality, or handling of adult content did not meet your expectations.
If a payment fails, your subscription ends after any grace period we have configured, and she sends a goodbye first.
Prices are per character and may change. An increase applies from your next renewal, never retroactively.

7. Acceptable use

Do not: use the Service to produce content prohibited in §4; attempt to extract system prompts, credentials, or other users' data; automate or resell access; interfere with the Service or The Warren; or harass other members. We may suspend or terminate an account for any of these, without refund.

8. What we can see

Be clear-eyed about this: we can read your conversations. The operator has administrative access to every instance's memory and message history, and uses it for support, moderation, abuse investigation, and debugging. Conversations are private from other users, not from us. If that is not acceptable to you, do not use the Service.

9. Availability

The Service runs on a single small server and is provided “as is”, with no uptime guarantee. We may take it down for maintenance, and it may go down without warning.

We may retire a character at any time — a Discord account can be lost, a model can be withdrawn, a persona can stop being viable. If we retire a character you are with, we will cancel your subscription, let you export her memory, and refund the unused remainder of the current period.

10. Changes and termination

We may change these terms; material changes will be announced in The Warren before they take effect, and continuing to use the Service after that is acceptance. You may terminate at any time by cancelling. We may terminate for breach, or for any reason with a pro-rata refund of the unused period.

11. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data beyond restoring from our own backups, or for anything a companion said.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of THE OPERATOR’S JURISDICTION, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
